How to set the theme of Tumblr

I mentioned already that I will post about theme of Tumblr more specifically.

Now, I'm going to explain how to set your Tumblr theme!

1. Click the setting button. 

2. Click your Tumblr's name then you can see that page in right side.

(Theme)

and click the 'Customize' button under the theme.

3. Click the 'Themes' button.

Image on the bottom is my Tumblr theme so, you may not see any images if you don't set

the theme.

4. Then you can choose your theme.

Tumblr is offering various themes but, you might pay on some themes.

There are nice themes in free themes as well :)

After choosing theme, you should click 'Use' button on the top.

5. We are almost most done! 

Did you choose your theme? I chose 'Royal Cameleon' theme.

It's free theme but I chose it because I liked those color mix.

And, let's scroll down. It's time to customize your theme.

You can change your title of Tumblr and write description

also you can change the colors of theme.

Also, you if you scroll down more, you can set up how many posts will be shown

in your Tumblr :)

How to set the Tumblr

Hi guys! :D Did you check the previous post?

I'm sure all of you guys succeeded in joining the Tumblr!

It's time to go to the next step! Today, I'm going to post about setting your Tumblr.

Actually, It is really basic setting so I will also post about specific and complicated setting next time!

1. First, you should log onto Tumblr! 

Then, you can see this button on the top. Click it! (Setting button)

2. And there are some menus on the left side!

You can first click the account button.

In this page, you can set up your account.

You can change you e-mail address and password.

In edit posts using is showing the tool that you are going to use when you post, but 

It's okay to leave it as it is.

Tumblr is offering some other languages but, unfortunately, they are not offering Korean.

After finishing all settings, you should click 'Save' button on the upper-right side.

3. Next! you can click the 'Dashboard' button!

Now, you can set up your dashboard.

This is dashboard setting page.

You can read all the explanation under the words but, especially,

in 'Browse tag pages in Safe Mode' If you don't check this button You may see some adults post without any filtering.

4. E-mail setting

This is really simple, If you want to get new notification from Tumblr

you should check 'Keep me updated with new~~~' button! and Save.

5. Blog Setting!

Finally, I think this is most important part!

First, you should click the lowest button on the left side!

Because you haven't changed your profile pictures, it might be slightly different with mine.

OK, I will explain in order!

At first, If you click 'Change Avatar' You can change your profile picture!

Because I already changed my profile picture, so this page shows my profile picture.

URL: You can change URL of your Tumblr.

Theme: You can change the theme of your Tumblr.

I will post about various theme of Tumblr more speicifc later.

If you want to change your theme, you can click the 'Customize' button.

Replies: It's about the reply of your Tumblr.

Reply function is newly updated function!

Ask: It is one of the special features of Tumblr.

It is called 'Ask' but this function is similar with 'Message' function in Facebook.

You can be questioned by other people.

Submissions: If you check this button, other people can post on your Tumblr.

Queue: It is also new function of Tumblr. 

It's kind of uploading your post by subscription.

I know it may sound strange, but it is quite convenient function.

By using Quene function, Tumblr will upload lots of your posts automatically on a date you already set.

Facebook: Yes, you can share your posts with your Facebook.

Twitter: Same with Facebook! Your Twitter followers can read your Tumblr on the Twitter.

Posts by E-mail: You can post by e-mail.

RSS Feeds: We all knew about RSS last class but, Tumblr don't offer RSS address.

Directory: It is important function If you want to make your Tumblr popular.

By clicking the first button, many search engine sites will index your blog and

NSFW, If you check this button, your blog can contain adults post.

That's all! Please don't forget to click the SAVE button!

As I mentioned above, It was a basic setting of your Tumblr.

I'm going to post about specific setting such as Quene, Theme function later on.

How to join Tumblr

How to use Tumblr?

If you 'just' want to see pics and other's post on Tumblr

you don't need to join Tumblr because, you can just see other's post without join.

However, If you want to have your own Tumblr page (to upload posts) and follow other's Tumblr you should join the Tumblr.

1. This is register page of Tumblr.

you can check the http://tumblr.com and click the sign up button in the upper-right side.

and fill in this blanks like when you join other web site.

After that, Tumblr will send you verification email to written e-mail address.

If you check that email and click the check button, that's it :)

2. Interface

After checking the verification mail and log onto Tumblr, 

You can see this page. It is a dashboard of Tumblr. (Actually, this is my dashboard!)

I think you are familiar with 'dashboard' already, because it is like a timeline in Facebook.

Through the dashboard, you can check the posts of other people who you are following, and also check the number of you post and followers as well.

And can you see this bar in the top of dashboard?

I think it is one of the good features of Tumblr.

You can make a post based on various kinds of sources.

You can click any button which fits your post.

Then, how about making the first post of your Tumblr from now on?

What is the Tumblr?

Hello everyone! :D

It is the first post in my blog! My blog is all about Tumblr. 

So, today I'm going to introduce the Tumblr! 

Have you ever heard of Tumblr? or are you using it now?

According to Wikipedia, they defined Tumblr 

"Tumblr, stylized as tumblr., is a microblogging platform and social networking website, owned and operated by Tumblr, Inc. The service allows users to post multimedia and other content to a short-form blog. Users can follow other users' blogs, as well as make their blogs private. Much of the website's features are accessed from the "dashboard" interface, where the option to post content and posts of followed blogs appear."

Yes, in a simple word, Tumblr is a micro blog (simple blog) which allows you to upload picture, audio, video and follow other's Tumblr like Twitter. So, some people said that Tumblr is between Facebook and Twitter.

Also according to Wikipedia,

"As of August 20, 2012, Tumblr has over 69.4 million blogs and more than 29.8 billion total posts. As of September 2011, the website receives more than 13 billion views per month. As of July 2010, the site receives 25,000 new users each day and as of July 2012, 71.6 million posts are created on the site each day. 

The service is most popular with the teen and college-aged user segments with half of Tumblr's visitor base being under the age of 25. As of 2009, Tumblr had an 85% retention rate,[20] compared with 40% for Twitter."

Like this, Tumblr is getting popular! Still Koreans are not familiar with Tumblr because Tumblr didn't offer Korean version unlike Twitter and Facebook but, It is definitely worth using. 

Tumblr actually is well-known for high-res, sophisticated image and photos of users. If you are fan of specific artist, singer, actor or something you will be satisfied with lots of photos and image information. I'm 100% sure!

From next post, I will post how to use Tumblr specifically :) If you don't know how to use it, you are able to use it easily!
